Creative Ideas for Decorating Boys' Rooms

Last month I shared a few adorable ideas for decorating girls' rooms. Today I would like to share some amazing ideas for decorating a room for a boy (although I think my girls would love these ideas as well!).

Amazing DIY Projects For a Girls Room

Give that little girl in your life a special place to call her own with these cheerful diy projects.

Lemon-Garlic Shrimp & Veggies {quick, simple, last minute meal}

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Frozen Foods Institute and the Frozen Food Roundtable for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

This is such a simple meal. It takes very little prep, is ready in minutes, and the serving sizes are easily adjustable so you can make enough for a large crowd or take it down to a single serving. (Perfect for last minute guests!!)

Ingredients:

  • 2 12oz Bags Broccoli and Cauliflower Birds Eye Steamfresh Vegetables
  • 1 Pound Frozen Pre-Cooked Shrimp
  • 2 Tablespoons Coconut Oil (olive oil or vegetable oil would also work.)
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
  • 2 Cloves Garlic (diced)
  • Salt & Pepper to taste (optional)

Directions:

  1. Thaw frozen vegetables and shrimp in microwave according to package directions.
  2. Heat the coconut oil in a pan.
  3. Add remaining ingredients to the pan and cook for 5-10 minutes (just long enough to heat the veggies and shrimp and mix all the flavors).
  4. Serve

The above recipe is for 4 servings. Far a larger crowd you would use about 2 bags veggies, 1 pound shrimp, and 1-3 cloves of garlic for every 4 people. Then add enough lemon juice, zest, salt and pepper to your liking. The Pinnacle Bird's Eye Steamfresh bags are my first choice when it comes to frozen veggies. The taste is as good as cooking with fresh vegetables and they are a quick and simple way to jazz up any meal. The benefits of frozen foods are amazing, especially when it comes to whipping up an entire meal in a matter of minutes.

If you are looking for a dessert Schwan's Edwards Key Lime Pie in Cookie Crust is absolutely delicious!! I love that it comes in single servings so can get the perfect amount of dessert, whether it's just you or you're planning for a large get-together. The best part is that there is absolutely no prep required (as long as you remember to take it out of the freezer in time to thaw). However, I won't judge you if you let your guests to believe that you slaved away in the kitchen all day. :)

A healthier option for dessert (and one of my favorites) is to pair ConAgra Healthy Choice Greek Frozen Yogurt with fresh fruit. My kids actually prefer this to ice cream!! As a mom, it is a huge plus when you find healthy options that your kids actually enjoy. If you are planning a child birthday party, these would be a great alternative!!

Here is another great frozen food that I love! My husband and I usually don't eat breakfast (yes, I know it's the most important meal of the day... blah, blah, blah). However, we often have friends or family that will stay a night or two. In these cases I feel as though I should at least offer them breakfast. Just because I don't eat breakfast doesn't mean my guests should starve, right? These Kellogg's MorningStar Breakfast Sandwiches are perfect for guests to help themselves to their own breakfast!

Here are a few more great advantages of having frozen meal options readily available in your freezer:

  • Portion control - Perfect for yourself or serving a large group.
  • Ease of preparation - Spend more time enjoying conversations with friends and less time slaving away in the kitchen!
  • Ability to try different types of cuisines .
  • Frozen foods are ready when you are. They allow today's busy family to spend less time apart and more time enjoying wholesome, tasty meals around the dinner table.

My Secret to Keeping Meals Simple

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Frozen Foods Institute and the Frozen Food Roundtable. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ever since posting my Weekly Menu/ Shopping List Printable I've received many comments from you guys (my readers) stating that you barely have enough time to plan meals, much less actually have the time to cook them. Well today I'm going to let you in on a little secret of mine. Frozen Food!! Yep, in my fast paced world between school activities, after school activities, weekend soccer games, and work deadlines, I understand how hard it can be to stay on top of your family meals. Which is why I incorporate frozen dishes into my family's daily routine. I absolutely love the benefits of frozen foods.

Jimmy Dean Sausage, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches are perfect for my husband who wakes up at 4 am and most days doesn't have enough time for breakfast before work. With these croissant sandwiches, he can have a warm breakfast ready in less than a couple minutes.

As for me, I wake up early with my husband so that I can sneak in a couple hours of work before the girls wake up. I love that I can grab a General Mills Pillsbury Toaster Strudel before heading into my office to start the day.

With both girls playing soccer this year that means that 3-4 nights a week, we won't be getting home until around 7 (which is usually bed time for the girls). Cooking on soccer practice nights is not even an option. On these nights we usually opt for frozen meals. Heinz Smart Ones, Nestle Lean Cuisines, or Nestle Lean Pockets are some of our favorites. (Have you tried the pretzel bread on the lean pockets? Yummy!) These meals require very little preparation and I love that Heinz and Nestle offer such a large variety of meals. This way each member of the family can choose something that they like and they can have a variety of different types of cuisines to choose from through out the week as well.

One thing I love about frozen food is that freezing is how fresh food stays fresh. Freezing naturally pauses inspired recipes made with fresh, quality ingredients and suspends them there until the moment you’re ready to enjoy them, locking in freshness, flavor and nutrients. Frozen food is made from real recipes and real ingredients. Freezing is simply a natural pause button that keeps just picked, just baked and just crafted foods at the peak of freshness. Frozen. You don't have to sacrifice health to have a quick meal with quality ingredients. If you are like many Americans, your life is filled with demands and distraction. That's what's great about frozen foods: they fit every family's lifestyle without compromising taste or nutrition. You can even customize your favorite dishes with frozen foods! Simply toss some frozen vegetables in with chicken and rice or sprinkle some breadcrumbs on mac & cheese after cooking. Also, for those of you on a diet, frozen meals make calorie counting a breeze because you know exactly how many calories are in the meals you eat.
